The Te Iwi O Rakaipaaka Incorporated (TIORI) Annual General Meeting (AGM)
The Te Iwi O Rakaipaaka Incorporated (TIORI) Annual General Meeting (AGM) is scheduled for Saturday, March 21, 2026, at Kahungunu Marae, Nuhaka.
Agenda and Governance
The meeting agenda includes the confirmation of minutes from the previous AGM held on May 17, 2025, the presentation of the Chairperson’s report and audited financial statements, and general business. A primary focus of the meeting is the required update to the Constitution Rules and Regulations Deed before April 5, 2026, to comply with the Charities Amendment Act and retain charitable status.
Key Developments and Operations
Relationship with TIORT: TIORI remains committed to the goal of reuniting with the Te Iwi o Rakaipaaka Trust (TIORT). Both organizations have navigated a period of administrative and financial separation, resulting in TIORI managing its own finances and banking since January 2025.
Housing and Infrastructure: The Te Maara Social Housing Project has faced delays due to extreme weather, extended council consent times, and theft of building materials. Additionally, TIORI is relocating back to office facilities at 3169 Ngatirangi Street.
Community Activities: TIORI has supported various community initiatives, including the 75th anniversary of Kahungunu Marae, Rākaipaaka Day, and Taiao freshwater management workshops.
Proposed Resolutions
The meeting will seek approval from adult registered members on three resolutions:
Noting and endorsing the minutes from the AGM held on May 17, 2025.
Noting and endorsing the Chairperson's report and activities.
Accepting the changes to the Te Iwi O Rakaipaaka Inc. Constitution Rules and Regulations Deed.
